About the Author
Even as a youngster, Conny Fechner had a natural flair for art; always picking up ideas, new skills and making "things". She was already winning prizes during primary and high school.
Conny was born in Dunedin, New Zealand. She trained as a teacher, graduating with a Bachelor of Education Degree.
Although the first years were spent teaching, Conny was already entering major art shows, doing commissioned work, exhibiting and winning awards.
Self taught, wth over thirty years experience in the arts and crafts, Conny's vivid imagination and humour is seen in most of her work.
She has produced work ranging from murals, greeting cards, illustrations to acrylic paintings (sold on commission and through local art shows), and cartoons. Conny's favourite mediums are ink, watercolour, acrylics and dye. She has just finished a quilt, each panel handpainted with dye and black lines, depicting fish in a most whimsical fashion!
Conny works from a home studio.
